Tiger: The Striped Stalker of Grasslands

Although tigers (Panthera tigris) are often associated with dense forests, certain subspecies, such as the Bengal tiger, inhabit savanna-like grasslands and mangroves. These areas provide a mix of open spaces for hunting and dense cover for stalking prey. Tigers are apex predators, maintaining the balance of herbivore populations in these ecosystems.

Tigers are solitary animals, with males defending large territories that overlap with those of females. In savanna-like habitats, their prey includes deer, antelope, and wild boar. Habitat fragmentation poses a significant threat, making the protection of savanna grasslands crucial for their survival.
